"Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value."

Reusing elements that would otherwise end up in a landfill is a fun way to spark creative thinking—and do some good for the environment at the same time. Whether used in their entirety or broken into smaller components, seeing how one thing can transform into something totally different and new introduces a model of thinking outside the box.

When employees are given the opportunity to build a new creation with repurposed objects and then utilize that creation as part of their workspace, the ingenuity involved in upcycling carries over to their interactions with each other and their approach to their work.
